in march 29th,1968 the president houari boumedien announced that he will build this great university, and in june 1969, the decision to start working was announced.
the plan of the university was created by the famous brasilian architacter Oscar Nimiar.
activities and studies in the university started in september 1971, and nowaday the mentouri's university become one of the greatest universities not only in algeria but also in all africa.
